Leaving

You left me here, so unexpected.

People leave don't they?

The people you loved the most...

They leave.

And your feelings for them stay.

It's hard isn't it?

To love someone so much till it hurts.

To love someone so much till you're scared to ever love again.

You plan 'forever' with them but they let you down.

And there you are, left alone, thinking about everything you shared.

Looking back on your memories and wondering what went wrong.

You changed my life.

Truth is, we all want someone we can't have.

We want to re-live days that were over.

We dream about the impossible. 

But that's human nature.

We love too much and too hard.

Then when they leave, we can't accept it and we keep holding on.

We live in a delusional world, thinking that someone's going to come back.

That someone still loves us.

But in reality...?

We're just lying to ourselves.
